Hideouts and lessons

Since we got the butcher block from my mom we have a lot more cupboard space. The girls have decided that the old cereal cupboard is now theirs. I'm down with it, it means they are quite occupied while I work in the kitchen.

We had to have a lesson on snakes this week. Tenna loves telling me what to draw and has becoem much more detailed in her demands, so these snakes had to have ears. I tried to explain that snakes just have holes, but that didn't seem right to her. We ended up doing some youtube research and resolving the issue. I thought these drawings were a strange combination of mouse and snake, too interesting not to share.

Andileena Jolie

No, this is not a botched attempt at lip enhancement, though we could probably compare the pic to a few celebs of late. Andi and Tenna having their typical pre-nap giggle fest, when I noticed that Andi's voice seemd a little louder than it should be if she were in her crib. I ignored this, thinking "you are sure a crazy mom, you are way too anal." Well I should have listened to that little clue and gone in because the next minute I hear a loud clunk and a very scary little cry. I ran in to find Andi laying on her face and Tenna standing over her trying to help her. I scooped her up for an inspection. I was comforted by her bawling, so I asked Tenna where she had fallen from....I don't think she understood. So I don't know if she used her flexibility to heft herself over the crib or if she had climbed onto the dresser, but luckily, all she suffered is a fat lip. Oy, kids this age just think they are ready for way more adventures than they are!

Dancing

Today (in between bouts of illness, when the medicine was working) Tenna gave Andi some dance lessons. Tenna's big motivation for potty training has been that she gets to take dance classes when she fills up her chart. Yeah to dancing!

Andi thought it was time for refreshments, but Tenna is too die hard!

Nothing

It hasn't really been a boring week, but I don't feel like there has been much in the way of news to report. Andi and Tenna have allergies, or something, so we had a long night and I am a bit frazzled/ Oh well, here are some pics anyways!

Procrastination

This is the kind of thing I make when procrastinating. No, not children, chrocheted knick-knacks. What am I procrastinating? I seriously NEED to finish Sarah's baby quilt, but I am not even half way done with the applique...I don't know why I am struggling with this, but I will kick myself into gear tonight. Besides, quilting is procrastination for dishes. ;) One great round.

Fashion lessons

Aunt Nicole did a great job making smocks for the girls, but Tenna is going to show us all how they should really be worn!

We did hair after the bath so Tenna decided to share the love with daddy! Poor guy just doesn't get to play when it comes to girlie stuff!

Changin' my style

So I finally decided I was tired of my dry crazy post-perm hair...

This isn't exactly what I was going for (I wanted it a bit shorter, next time huh?), but I do really like it. The poor girl cutting my hair just couldn't bring herself to go as short as I wanted to. Now I just get to have fun figuring out how I want to style it!

This is how Andi felt about the haircut. She still couldn't quite get over it by nap time. It sure is a new thing to have her not wanting to be held every minute. Daddy did get some good cuddle time.
