It's true
Little man is here!! I have been slacking off a bit. I am probably going to be in big trouble, because I didn't get a good "last preggo pic." WE had every intention of doing it at the hospital, but we got a little swept away in the moment!
So here are the stats:
TOA: 7:26am
Weight: 7lbs 12 ozs
Length: 21 inches
Name: Lee Charles Noyes
He is a very good baby! I know, he is only 3 days old, but I just think the first few days have been a good omen. His jaundice from the Coombes is still in the acceptable range, so we are very optimistic that there will be no more issues with this little guy. Ok, I will write the birth story below for anyone who cares (mostly for Rowe to say thanks for the good reads, they did help!). If you get squeemish don't read on!
Most of Wednesday I felt like things were progressing and I was definately nesting, so we called Alberts folks late in the afternoon and asked them to drive up. I kept having consistant and strong contractions through the day until about 9pm. I pretty much decided that meant it wasn't today. We all went to bed a little bummed, I was also just a little relieved. Well at 2am I woke up with my first contraction and knew this was it. So I went to the bathroom, got ready to go and woke Albert up. He was definately dazed and confused. He said he didn't understand what was going on because I was too calm. Since Andi came so quickly we had decided to leave for the hospital right away, so off we went.
L&D was very calm so we had an easy time getting settled and checked in. They wanted to monitor my contractions (esp since I had not been in labor for that long, in their opinion ;) so I was hooked up for a while. My water broke around 4am. We walked, listend to music, blah blah blah. Things were progressing smoothly. He was posterior, but amazingly I didn't have back labor. His position did slow things down, I am grateful for that!
Transition didn't seem all that different, just a building of the power/pain of the contractions. I told the nurse they may want to shut the door because I was going to start making noise and I didn't want to scare any other moms. I don't think anyone believed my until it was time to push. My poor husband has never seen me make so much noise in his life, but he stuck with it, and talked my into actually getting the baby out here. He finally flipped as he dropped into the birth canal so I probably only pushed for 5 minutes. He came out howling and strong!
The placenta decided it wasn't going to leave without a fight, so that was no fun. I think I was so relieved to have the baby that my body was not ready to deal with that new pain. I wish I had an epidural for that. I ended up hemmoraging and needing pitocine and fluids (no transfusion, thank goodness). It's a good thing those L&D nurses are so strong, I was trying to fight her away while she was getting the clots out and massaging my uterus, but she persisted!
Now we are all just relieved to be on this side of recovery and to have a new little man in the house! I know I said I wanted a 9 pound baby, but I think I like him being a week early better!

So glad you are safe - and so is baby Lee.
That part about the placenta and hemorrhaging ... scares me. I'm really glad you had people who knew what they were doing!
Hope you're getting lots of rest and help!

So did you wake up at 2 and do you hair before you left... is that what you were doing in the bathroom... You look great- not like you just had a baby. I am smiling and happy. And love the idea of giving the girls a baby of their own
Actually I had my haircut that day and it held some of the style! Just lucky timing I guess! It's nice to not have a mullet for once in my hospital pics. ;) Thanks for noticing!
Congratulations!! I'm so happy for you and happy everything is well. He's beautiful by the way-and I love how cute your girls are being to their "babies" in the other post. What a darling family!

I have had my 3 girls with no epidural, and with my last one Abi my placenta was the same. They gave me pitocin and kept pushing on my uterus. That was definitely the most painful part of all three of my labors! Congrats, he looks adorable. I am proud of you for the no epidural too, good job!
